19 Things You Don’t Know About Me…by Andrea Rogers

1.My favorite food:  Fish tacos, preferably beachside accompanied by a drink with an umbrella in it!

2.My least favorite food: Despite having a deep love for seafood, I just don’t love scallops, but I’m not giving up, I will keep trying.

3.My idea of a perfect meal:  Stone crab appetizer, a white fish or filet for entrée with a side of asparagus and a small side of pasta, finished with a raspberry or lemon sorbet. Okay, now I am hungry!

4.What motivates me when I’m not in the mood to work out or eat healthy:

I see motivation as a perpetual cycle that begins with action, not mindset. It’s what I call, “JUST PRESS PLAY.”

Here’s how I boil it down: Motivation comes from doing the hard things – taking the action head-on, out the gate. From that action, you’ll get positive results.

This then leads to a motivation mindset. You’ll naturally want to keep going. It’s that momentum we talked about. It’s about getting things moving. Start by taking the hard action.

5.My guilty pleasure: Oh, I love these coconut chocolate ice cream bars with almonds, they are so darn good!

6.One thing I’m really good at:  I think I’m good at “pushing play” and not giving up. I’ve learned how to pivot (or as the dance term goes, “push-turn”) with the best of them. Building a business and re-building my life.

I believe in facing things with resilience, authenticity, and full-out feeling. I live by the phrase, “earned not given” as this is how you find your grace, through the grit.

7.One thing I’m really bad at:  Having patience. I tend to move at a very fast tempo and sometimes struggle to slow down and give myself some time to relax.

8.How I clear my head after a crappy day:  I do stretch meditation. This involves flowing through a stretch sequence while focusing on thoughts of gratitude.

It allows me to disconnect from the discomfort of the stretch while connecting to a positive mindset.

I also use a great app called “Think Up” which helps me to refocus my thoughts and re-align with my goals and all the extraordinary ordinary around me.

9.The song (or type of music) that always puts me in a good mood:  “You Get What You Give” by New Radicals. This song always reminds me to keep pushing and to enjoy every step along the way.

10. The talent I would most like to have: Singing! Oh, how I wish I had the voice of Celine Dion!

11.Who I admire and why:  I admire all of the hardworking women who have taken on the roles of partner, mother, caretaker, and often full-time worker during these last two years of the pandemic.

The women who are trying to do it all, have it all, be their best self, and be the foundation for their families. I see you, you’re doing great girl!

12.The qualities I most admire in someone:  Honesty. Kindness. Determination.

13. The things I most value in my friends: I am so grateful to be surrounded by an incredible crew — friends who believe in me, support me, are honest with me, who have my back, help with the girls, and have seen me through some challenging times in my life, and who cheer me on.

Since I don’t live near my family, my friends have become family and are a big part of my life.

14.Three qualities that have gotten me to where I am today: Resilience. Creativity. Kindness.

15.The change I’d like to see in my industry: I would love to see more value being placed on the importance of health and exercise for our kids.

Infusing this value from a young age, teaching our children that moving your body and eating healthy are non-negotiables, just as brushing your teeth is.

Making movement accessible but more importantly, educating our youth on WHY it’s important to fuel their bodies with nutritious food and exercise, creating habits from a young age that will stay with them for life.

16. The best advice I’ve ever gotten: ”Don’t let it sink into your soul.” My mom used to say this to me whenever I faced a challenge. She taught me to keep moving forward and she also always told me to “sparkle & shine.”

17.The best advice I could give someone:  Just. Press. Play. In every role in your life. Don’t let excuses, fear, or judgment prevent you from making moves and progress.

18.My greatest achievement is: Raising two kind, courageous and grateful girls.

19.My idea of a perfect day: Morning stretch followed by my favorite matcha (with daily mantra) and late-morning breakfast (room service, please!).

Workout with friends, preferably outdoors (barre on the beach is my favorite) followed by an outdoor activity: hiking or biking taking in the beauty around us.

Afternoon shopping with my girls, enjoying all of the sites & surroundings. A fabulous dinner shared with my favorite people. After dinner dancing, laughing, loving, living full-out with feeling. The location doesn’t matter, just the people!
